SAINTS CLOSE OUT THE REGULAR SEASON WITH A STATEMENT WIN IN LANGLEY

On July 16 in Langley, the Port Coquitlam Saints did just that—closing the regular season with a 15–11 win built on rhythm, resilience, and a third‑period surge that felt like a playoff preview.

The matchup unfolded almost theatrically.

First period? All Saints. PoCo came out humming, moving the ball crisply, winning battles, and dictating the pace. Their swing passes were sharp, their timing clean, and Langley struggled to keep up with the early tempo.

Second period? All Thunder. Langley found their legs, tightened their defensive rotations, and pushed back with a run of their own. The Saints weren’t poor—they were simply outpaced for twenty minutes by a Thunder group that refused to fade quietly.

Third period? Saints again, emphatically. Once PoCo’s swing passes started connecting again, the offence opened like a floodgate. The ball zipped from stick to stick, rebounds were hunted down with purpose, and the Thunder defence couldn’t stem the tide.
