SAINTS FLEX NEW-LOOK ROSTER, DOUBLE UP ADANACS 12–6 IN COQUITLAM
June 26, 2026
Some nights, you can feel a shift coming before the first whistle. Friday in Coquitlam had that charge in the air—the kind that says a team isn’t just tinkering at the Trade Deadline, but reshaping its identity. The Port Coquitlam Saints walked into the Palace with a refreshed roster, a sharpened edge, and a point to prove. By the end of sixty minutes, they’d delivered their most complete road win of the season.
With the trade deadline looming, the Saints made a flurry of moves that signalled intent rather than panic. In came Jared Maznik (Delta), Blake Young (Delta), Jeremy Launt (Burnaby), Oskar Lucas (Burnaby), Sebastian Miles (Delta), and Zach Vanderwal (Toronto Beaches). A mix of grit, speed, and scoring touch—exactly what a team eyeing a late-season push needs.
A sincere thank‑you to Carter Smith and Ryan Law, who move on with the organization’s appreciation and best wishes.
The Saints didn’t just start well—they dominated the intangible parts of the game. Loose balls? 22–11 in favour of Poco. That alone told you who wanted it more.
They backed it up on the scoreboard too, outscoring Coquitlam 3–1 in a period where the Saints dictated pace, possession, and physicality. It felt like a statement: this revamped roster wasn’t going to need a long adjustment period.
Coquitlam pushed back early in the second, tightening the score and testing Poco’s composure. For a moment, the building got loud and the momentum wobbled.
Then the Saints slammed the door. A four‑goal run—quick, confident, and beautifully executed—blew the game open to 8–3. Lucas and Wall were everywhere, slicing through coverage, moving the ball with purpose, and finishing with authority.
Penalty trouble late in the period gave the Adanacs a lifeline, and they capitalized twice on the power play to cut the lead to 8–5. But even then, Poco never looked rattled. They simply regrouped, reset, and prepared to close.
The Saints added two more in the final frame while holding Coquitlam to a single goal. It wasn’t flashy—it was disciplined, structured lacrosse. The kind of period that wins playoff games.
The defence deserves a bow for this one. They soaked nine shots, boxed out effectively, and gave Ashton Brown clean looks all night. Brown rewarded them with a stellar 0.893 save percentage, one of his sharpest outings of the season.
Hat Tricks Everywhere
It’s rare to see one hat trick on the road. Three? That’s a flex.
- Lincoln Wall — 3 goals, 3 assists (6 points)
- Oskar Lucas — 3 goals, 3 assists (6 points)
- Josh Wall — 3 goals
Lincoln and Oskar were the engines, but Josh’s finishing touch kept Coquitlam chasing shadows. When your top guns are humming like that, everything else falls into place.
Final Score: Saints 12, Adanacs 6
A win that says the Saints aren’t just adding bodies—they’re building something. The next game for your Saints is Friday, July 3rd at home against the Burnaby Lakers.
