Saints Honour a Legend, Then Play Like One
July 3, 2026
Some nights in lacrosse feel bigger than the scoreboard. Friday in Port Coquitlam was one of them. Before a single ball hit the turf, the Saints unveiled their first-ever “Forever a Saint” tribute, celebrating Curtis Dickson — the hometown phenom who began in the Poco Minor system and grew into one of the most feared finishers the sport has ever seen.

The building buzzed with that mix of nostalgia and pride you only get when a community sees one of its own return home. And once the ceremony wrapped, the Saints spent the next sixty minutes proving they understood the assignment: honour a legend by playing legendary lacrosse.
Burnaby arrived looking hungrier, sharper, and determined to spoil the party. They struck early, converting their first two shots on new Saints goalie Waukigan Shognosh, who was still settling into the crease. Port Coquitlam, meanwhile, looked flat — a step behind on loose balls, a touch off in their timing, and down 2–1 after twenty minutes.
That was the wake-up call.
The second period belonged entirely to the Saints. They tightened their defensive rotations, pushed pace in transition, and unleashed a six-goal run that flipped the game on its head. By the time the horn sounded, Poco had stormed ahead 7–3, and the arena felt like it had been waiting all night for that eruption.
The third period? That was pure dominance. The Saints piled on nine unanswered goals, suffocating Burnaby’s offence and running away with a 16–3 final that looked nothing like the tentative opening frame.
Every game has a star. This one had several — but none brighter than Lincoln Wall.
A sock trick is rare. A sock trick that looks effortless is rarer still. Wall buried six goals and added an assist for a seven‑point night.
Right beside him, Josh Mills delivered a masterclass in playmaking. His eight points (2 goals, 6 assists) came from reading the floor like a seasoned quarterback — slipping passes through tight seams, drawing doubles, and feeding shooters in rhythm.

The right side was equally productive.
- Jared Maznil: 2 goals
- Braden Rieger: 2 goals

- Parker M’Lot: 2 goals
That trio kept Burnaby’s defence stretched and guessing, punishing every lapse.
And while goals grab headlines, possession wins games. Adam Wong was a magnet on the turf, scooping 10 loose balls — a quietly dominant performance that fuelled multiple scoring runs.

A night that began with a tribute to Curtis Dickson ended with a performance he would’ve appreciated: gritty, explosive, and unapologetically Poco.
