SAINTS STORM OUT OF THE GATE, CRUISE TO 12–1 WIN OVER TIMBERMEN

May 24, 2026

PORT COQUITLAM — Some games announce themselves early. It felt like the Saints were writing the script. Loose balls snapped into sticks, shots came in waves, and the Timbermen were left chasing shadows. By the end of the first period, the tone was set. By the end of the night, the message was unmistakable.

Port Coquitlam Saints 12, Nanaimo Timbermen 1. A statement win, and then some.

Every season has a night where a team looks completely in sync—this was one of those for PoCo.

The Saints dominated the opening frame with a relentless pace, winning nearly every contested ball and outshooting Nanaimo 24–10. It wasn’t just volume; it was intent. Every possession felt purposeful, every touch crisp. The Timbermen managed only a single goal, while the Saints piled up four and never looked back.

If the offence looked like it was running on rails, that’s because Elijah Terry was the conductor.

Eight assists—eight. It wasn’t flashy, but it was masterful. Terry threaded passes through tight seams, baited defenders into overcommitting, and kept the ball humming. His fingerprints were on nearly everything the Saints generated.

While Terry set the table, two Saints feasted.

  • Parker M’Lot found his scoring touch early, burying chances with confidence and a bit of swagger.
  • Chase Hemmerling-McLean matched him stride for stride, completing his own hat trick with a smooth finish that brought the crowd to its feet.

Different styles, same result: Nanaimo had no answer.

A 12–1 scoreline doesn’t happen without a defence that refuses to bend.

  • Josh Adey  and Luke Neary vacuumed up loose balls, turning broken plays into fresh possessions.
  • Levi Touhey stepped into shooting lanes like it was a personal challenge, leading the team in blocked shots.

The Timbermen simply couldn’t generate sustained pressure. Every time they tried, a Saint was already there.

This wasn’t just a win—it was a showcase. A reminder of what the Saints look like when their pace, precision, and physicality all peak at once. Nanaimo never found a foothold, and Poco never offered one.

If this is the version of the Saints that shows up consistently, the rest of the league has a problem.
